It does sound like an eel. Really savage and bizarre sensations sometimes. Not the slow and heavy fight of other large species. Can they swim backwards or is that just congers?Danglerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00161930083450992874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9197778115917889421.post-41207202465924005212015-12-21T06:36:38.776+00:002015-12-21T06:36:38.776+00:00Probably a Giant Mottled Eel from Australia, I kno...Probably a Giant Mottled Eel from Australia, I know Barry McConnell gets stuck in to them from time to time.

I hooked and lost something on Sunday and new exactly what it was, it took two lobworms and kept low and slow till the hooklength snapped because of the Pikes teeth. Not a misprint - a stone and a half of anguilla anguilla. A specimen as unlikely as an 8lb roach! I don't think it was a wind-up but I didn't remove the polythene wrapper as I don't buy the mag ;-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06583873907086972391noreply@blogger.com
