So here we have it. Race of the year. 18 jockeys, steeds champing at the bit, jostling in the stalls, and.... THEY'RE OFF!

  1. Hi Jeff, looking forward to the competition but more importantly getting to know some or all of you through doing this. Maybe the Lancaster canal has some surprises in-store for us, we shall see. Good luck and tight lines to you all.

  2. Bring it on boys! The canal category will be very hotly contested I reckon. I will need to considerably up my canal carp and pike PBs to have any chance in it though.

  5. It could be a while before I get off the foot of the table (I might never get off it!). I've had a month's break and it's likely to be the end of the month before I wet a line again. I did think about a short canal zander session today, but I opted to build a couple of platforms for my club instead! Already counting down to the rivers opening....

  6. An Ide......I never even seen one before but I hear they are great battlers, I may have to find one...... Good Luck to everybody and I hope this bring's us all bags and bags of fun, maybe a British Record fish will be claimed out of this??? My money is on a Gudgeon.
